Couples Therapy
My approach in couples therapy is direct, compassionate, and fair. I frequently help partners develop compassion and understanding for one another, and simultaneously encourage each person to more effectively express their own needs and desires in the relationship. Many couples find themselves stuck in a pattern of relating to one another that leaves both partners feeling misunderstood, criticized, and devalued. I help couples identify and alter these patterns, and gain insight into how these patterns developed in the first place. I also work with couples to understand, develop, and enhance, their relationship strengths.
I work with couples to address a variety of challenges, including:
Improving communication
Increasing intimacy
Forgiveness
Frequent fighting or arguing
Pre-marital counseling
Infidelity
Life transitions
Relationship enhancement
Even if you do not see your particular relationship difficulties listed above, please give me a call to discuss your needs and goals for couples therapy. I am happy to offer you appropriate referrals for another provider if I am not the best person to help you reach your relationship goals.

I work with co-parents to address a variety of challenges, including:
How to tell kids about a pending separation/divorce/breakup
How to create a child-centered parenting plan
